'Ne Pleure Pas'

Some of us are born driven. We can't help but give chase to some goal, some ideal, some mad dream...And be changed by the process, grow slowly to embody it.

This one didn't quite have the strength. Only got half way. Stuck between worlds, neither human nor bird, ideal nor real - changed, but only made uglier, not belonging to either. Scarred, flightless, tired.

..maybe the dream wasn't so good from up-close, but it's too late to turn back...

Can you comfort someone like that? Is to give one refuge - to slow its progress? Can you mend them?

*shrugs* a few things were on my mind at the time, quite a few. Acceptance, mending, defiant hope, fear... I wanted to get across that desire to share warmth, to make hope contagious...At least to lend strength.

The girl wasn't meant to look like me...I've been both those people, to some extent.

I hope the symbolism of the bird-like features is self-explanatory.

"Ne Pleure pas" means "don't you cry" in French. I usually can't stand the French language, but there's a song that sounds a bit like a lulluby called that, which i've grown oddly fond of. I can imagine her humming it...
